I started that about a year after departing EBSCO Information Services, who had acquired my previous company, Zepheira, where I worked since 2009 on some of the coolest projects, and with some of the best people I&#8217;ve ever worked with.<\/p>\n\n<p>I&#8217;ve done some <a href=\"http:\/\/www.coactus.com\">consulting<\/a> over the years too, and founded another company,\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.roveit.com\">Rove IT<\/a> (now a <a href=\"https:\/\/mergr.com\/transaction\/solarwinds-acquires-rove\">SolarWinds company<\/a>), who provided innovative\nmobile systems management and administration solutions for the enterprise.\nI also spent three years at at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sun.com\">Sun Microsystems<\/a>, which had\n<a href=\"http:\/\/findarticles.com\/p\/articles\/mi_m0EIN\/is_1998_Oct_20\/ai_53099894\">acquired<\/a> my previous company, Beduin Communications.  I was Beduin&#8217;s CTO.<\/p>\n\n<p>My principle areas of interest and expertise is Internet scale distributed systems,\nthe Web, standards development, software architecture in general, and mobile\/wireless.<\/p>\n\n<p>See my\n<a href=\"\/resume\/\">resume<\/a>\nfor more detailed information.<\/p>\n\n<h3>Contributions<\/h3>\n<p>As an originator or editor of a specification, some stuff I&#8217;ve done includes;\n<ul>\n \t<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/TR\/xhtml-basic\/\">XHTML Basic<\/a>; the core of WML 2.0 in WAP<\/li>\n \t<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ietf.org\/rfc\/rfc3236.txt\">RFC 3236<\/a>; the registration of the\napplication\/xhtml+xml media type<\/li>\n \t<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ietf.org\/rfc\/rfc3902.txt\">RFC 3902<\/a>; the registration of the\napplication\/soap+xml media type<\/li>\n \t<li><a href=\"\/2003\/05\/RDF-Forms\/\">RDF Forms<\/a>; extending the Semantic Web RESTfully\nwith mutation and indexing support, as\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/TR\/html401\/interact\/forms.html\">HTML Forms<\/a>\ndo for the HTML based Web<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/p>\n\n<p>I&#8217;ve also contributed to;\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.wapforum.org\/what\/technical.htm\">WAP 2.0<\/a>,\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ietf.org\/rfc\/rfc3023.txt\">RFC 3023 &#8220;XML Media Types&#8221;<\/a>,\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/TR\/soap12-part1\/\">SOAP 1.2<\/a>,\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/TR\/xhtml-modularization\/\">XHTML Modularization<\/a>,\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/TR\/xhtml11\/\">XHTML 1.1<\/a>,\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/TR\/xml-events\/\">XML Events<\/a>,\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ietf.org\/rfc\/rfc3470.txt\">RFC 3470 &#8220;Guidelines for the Use of XML within IETF Protocols&#8221;<\/a>,\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/TR\/WICD\">Compound documents<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<p>I am an enthusiastic fan of the World Wide Web, in particular the two primary specifications\nthat made it all possible (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ietf.org\/rfc\/rfc2616.txt\">HTTP 1.1<\/a>,\nand <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ietf.org\/rfc\/rfc3986.txt\">URIs<\/a>), and the architectural style,\n<a href=\"https:\/\/ics.uci.edu\/~fielding\/pubs\/dissertation\/rest_arch_style.htm\">REST<\/a>, that was used by\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ics.uci.edu\/~fielding\/\">Roy Fielding<\/a> to craft\nthem.
