Subscribed\n(sorta &#8211; hurry up with the RSS and permalinks! 8-O )<\/p>\n\n<p>One of his first entries is titled &#8220;Messages != Flattened Objects&#8221;, which is a topic\nvery near and dear to my heart, and a frequent point of discussion between Jim and\nmyself, both\n<a href=\"http:\/\/lists.w3.org\/Archives\/Public\/www-ws-desc\/\">publically<\/a>\nand privately.<\/p>\n\n<p>The term &#8220;Flattened Object&#8221; is interesting.  I hadn&#8217;t heard it before, though\nI do use\n<a href=\"http:\/\/java.sun.com\/products\/jdk\/1.2\/docs\/guide\/serialization\/spec\/serialTOC.doc.html\">&#8220;serialized&#8221;<\/a>\nand\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cs.tut.fi\/lintula\/manual\/modula3\/m3sources\/html\/pickle\/src\/Pickle.m3.html\">&#8220;pickled&#8221;<\/a>\non occasion.  This is what I call a\n&#8220;document&#8221;; a bag of bits <em>RE<\/em>presenting the <em>ST<\/em>ate of some object.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Jim Webber joins the fray.
