Their network is largely state transfer based; not\nREST, but not far from it either, and &#8220;like it&#8221; in the\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ics.uci.edu\/~fielding\/pubs\/dissertation\/rest_arch_style.htm#sec_5_1_5\">right way<\/a>.\nAt least they&#8217;ve (mostly) got past the API-centric view of the world espoused\nby Web services proponents (yes, even for &#8220;document centric&#8221; Web services), despite paying\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.grandcentral.com\/developers\/quick_refs\/post_any.wsdl\">lip<\/a>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.grandcentral.com\/developers\/quick_refs\/poll_any.wsdl\">service<\/a>\nto WSDL.<\/p>\n\n<p>Plus they&#8217;ve got a\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dmreview.com\/article_sub.cfm?articleId=1004000\">Semantic Web proponent<\/a>\nas\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.grandcentral.com\/company\/mgmt\/dlinthicum.html\">CTO<\/a>.\nLook for more good things from GC (and from third parties on their platform) in the coming months and years.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A couple of interesting developments out of Grand Central.
