Because\nas much as\n<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.msdn.com\/mikechampion\/archive\/2005\/02\/20\/376975.aspx\">agnosticism<\/a>\nsounds like a reasonable position, it totally misses the point\nthat <em>there exist\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.markbaker.ca\/2002\/09\/Blog\/2003\/01\/02#2003-01-oh-n\">technical issues<\/a>\nthat make SOA completely unsuitable as an Internet scale integration architectural style<\/em>.\nIf you want to add transactions, reliability, asynchronicity, etc.. to the Web, you\ndon&#8217;t need to relax any of REST&#8217;s constraints as SOA does, you need\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ics.uci.edu\/~rohit\/ARRESTED-ICSE.pdf\">additional ones<\/a>.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"I wish I had the time to comment in detail on all the recent goings-on viz a viz SOAP\/SOA-vs-REST, but alas, I don&#8217;t (in fact, you probably won&#8217;t be hearing very much from me until the summer).
