{"id":866,"date":"2005-07-15T15:29:00","date_gmt":"2005-07-15T19:29:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.markbaker.ca\/wp\/2005\/07\/15\/atom-10-and-rdf\/"},"modified":"2005-07-15T15:29:00","modified_gmt":"2005-07-15T19:29:00","slug":"atom-10-and-rdf","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.markbaker.ca\/blog\/2005\/07\/atom-10-and-rdf\/","title":{"rendered":"Atom 1.0 and RDF"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The more I think about my main\n<a href=\"http:\/\/lists.w3.org\/Archives\/Public\/www-rdf-comments\/2003OctDec\/0033.html\">contribution<\/a>\nto the\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/TR\/2003\/PR-rdf-syntax-grammar-20031215\/\">RDF\/XML Rec<\/a>,\nthe more I\n<a href=\"http:\/\/lists.w3.org\/Archives\/Public\/www-archive\/2005Jul\/0014.html\">like its implications<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<p>And congrats to the Atompub WG on Atom going, effectively,\n<a href=\"http:\/\/ietfreport.isoc.org\/all-ids\/draft-ietf-atompub-format-10.txt\">1.0<\/a>.\nI have mixed feelings about the syndication format; IMO, it should have\nreused existing formats, warts and all, in the spirit of\n<a href=\"http:\/\/ifindkarma.typepad.com\/relax\/2004\/12\/microformats.html\">paving the cowpaths<\/a>.\nOn the other hand, with\n<a href=\"http:\/\/bobwyman.pubsub.com\/main\/2005\/05\/microsoft_to_su.html\">Microsoft&#8217;s buy-in<\/a>,\nits success now seems assured (though it will continue to trail RSS for years to come,\nit seems).  I&#8217;m much more excited about the potential of the\n<a href=\"http:\/\/ietfreport.isoc.org\/idref\/draft-ietf-atompub-protocol\/\">protocol<\/a>\nthough.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The more I think about my main contribution to the RDF\/XML Rec, the more I like its implications.
