{"id":92,"date":"2003-02-11T12:11:00","date_gmt":"2003-02-11T16:11:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.markbaker.ca\/wp\/?p=221"},"modified":"2003-02-11T12:11:00","modified_gmt":"2003-02-11T16:11:00","slug":"bill-gurley-on-software-in-a-box","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.markbaker.ca\/blog\/2003\/02\/bill-gurley-on-software-in-a-box\/","title":{"rendered":"Bill Gurley on Software-in-a-box"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s good to see Bill Gurley has restarted his &#8220;Above The Crowd&#8221; newsletter.\nHis latest is <a href=\"http:\/\/news.com.com\/2010-1071-984072.html\">&#8220;Software in a box&#8221;<\/a>,\nwhere he talks about a topic that I&#8217;m quite familiar with; we shipped the first version of\nour software at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.idokorro.com\/\">Idokorro<\/a> in a\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sun.com\/hardware\/serverappliances\/qube3\/\">Cobalt Qube<\/a> for some\nof the reasons he mentioned; ease of installation, manageability, etc..<\/p>\n\n<p>One important reason that he didn&#8217;t list though, is integration.  Typically,\nintegration with third party software is done via proprietary APIs.
