CRUD has no equivalent to POST. It’s a different abstraction. Let’s stop trying to shoe-horn the Web into the shape of a database please.

Attention would-be REST evangelists; thanks for all your help, but conflating REST and the Web is only going to confuse a lot of folks.

“The new API is pretty much the same, except that it’s now accessible via https rather than http and it versioned as well”. Versioned?! Oh joy. Remember kids, these are *Web* APIs, and on the Web, cool URIs don’t change.
